What To Expect

The Deltran Battery Tender Junior has microprocessor controlled circuitry, enabling it to perform and control a number of sophisticated charging functions. Marketed as a “trickle charger with a brain,” the battery tender junior will fully charge a battery and maintain it at the proper storage voltage without the damaging effects caused by most trickle chargers (especially sulfation).

Battery tender juniors have a 4-step charging program - Initialization, Bulk Charge, Absorption Mode and Float Mode – which in most cases, extends your battery’s useful life by at least 50%.

Initialization: Battery tender junior conducts a series of checks to ensure the battery is functioning normally.

Bulk Charge: A full charge is delivered at a constant rate of 0.75 amp hours.

Absorption Mode: When the battery voltage has risen and reached a predetermined level, the battery tender junior will hold the battery charge voltage constant and allow the charge current amplitude to drop.

Float Mode: Battery tender junior automatically switches to this mode to maintain the battery voltage slightly above fully charged.
