VRLA - PURE LEAD AGM

VRLA AGM batteries stand for valve regulated lead-acid and are commonly referred to as sealed lead acid batteries. This type of battery is a sealed recumbent design that uses finely woven fiberglass mesh separators to absorb the electrolyte and separate the cells of the battery.

The fiberglass seperators saturated in electrolyte allow for maximum surface exposure for chemical reactions to happen within the battery. The sealed design allows for gasses produced by the charging and discharging of the battery to return to electrolyte form and be re-used providing a longer service life.

 

PURE LEAD & CARBON THIN PLATE PURE LEAD

NorthStar AGM thin plate lead carbon technology delivers ultra fast recharge times and more than three times as many cycles as standard AGMs, thanks to its PSOC compatibility. This not only ensures a more reliable power supply, but also reduces the cost of operation.

To create a thin plate lead carbon battery, we start with conventional lead-acid chemistry and add carbon components to the negative electrodes. While the carbon components do not change the basic electrochemistry, they increase specific power and reduce a chemical reaction called sulfation that occurs during charging cycles and is the principal reason ordinary lead-acid batteries fail.

 


NORTHSTAR TELECOM BATTERIES SEIRES

The NSB RED Battery® delivers long life for reliable and unreliable grid conditions. It's an ideal choice if high temperature is not an issue, but you want long life in the 20 to 35C (68 to 95F) range, regardless of the electric grid quality.

Featuring NorthStar’s pure lead – long life (TPPL) technology to deliver recharge times of 6 hours from 50% state of charge (SoC) to full charge.

For most customers the NSB RED Battery® will still be the preferred choice, providing the optimal balance between performance and price, while the NSB HT RED Battery® will be the battery of choice for more thermally demanding applications.

Our long life batteries are ideal for applications such as telecom backup, cable TV, emergency lighting, railway, switchgear, oil and gas and more.

The NSB HT RED Battery® delivers long life in unreliable grid conditions even at high temperatures, The unique pure lead electrochemistry increases power density and temperature resistance, while reducing corrosion and component aging.

Northstars high temp batteries are encased in heat resistant PPO plastics, which is non-brominated and flame retardant (UL 94 VO) with a LOI of at least 28%. These advanced plastics mean our batteries can withstand operating temps of between -40⁰C to +65⁰C (-40⁰F to +149⁰F).

Due to its high cyclic performance the HT series can be recharged extremely quickly. The battery can discharge at rates as low as <15 minutes and has a shelf life of up to 24 months.

The high temp batteries are ideal for applications such as telecom backup, cable TV, emergency lighting, railway, switchgear, oil and gas and more.
